Our Alaskan Adventures FINALLY Begin!
We finally made it to Alaska and started exploring this wild state! Our first stop was Chena Hot Springs Resort where we soaked in natural waters, drank cocktails in the Ice Museum, and hiked to our hearts' content. In this video, we share everything to do at the resort AND make a special stop in North Pole, Alaska. Here we were able to give a report to Santa about our nieces and nephews 🎅🏼

RV Travel Is About Doing Things You Never Thought You Would!
Переглядів 7 тис.Місяць тому
In this episode, we take on three major highways: the Klondike Highway, the Top of the World Highway, and the Taylor Highway. These are some of the worst roads we've experienced but man, do they offer some killer views. We also share our time in Dawson City, a historic mining town that had its heyday during the Klondike Gold Rush in 1896. It's now famous for something else, the SourToe Cocktail...

Being in the remote Yukon poses a problem for finding parts, but we were able to MacGyver a solution and hit the road again! B...

Great job I’m restoring a 20 year old camper myself but I just started it a running into all kinds of issues but as far as. The trim around the slide I would use a few pieces of scrap wood about the size of a large paint stick trueness sideways for support on the back an u can use a hand planner to make it even an you want even notice I hope you can understand what I’m trying to say but I am very impressed with your work an draw inspiration from you thanks for sharing your skills

Next time you go up there, make sure you try the fudge (Mackinac Island Fudge). There are SO many different flavors. Also, make sure you try the whitefish. It is absolutely delicious! The whitefish that is served in the restaurants in the UP comes right from the Great Lakes.

We're originally from Michigan. We moved to Oklahoma almost 2 years ago. We used to live in Leslie, which is in the middle of the Lower Peninsula. Great video showcase of the UP, all of those places are awesome. Don't forget the city of Marquette which is surprisingly urban and hip for the UP. Lots of great restaurants and microbreweries and remnants of its industrial past, the ore dock, etc. Also great nature stuff like Sugarloaf, Black Rocks, and a huge mountain bike infrastructure...

Bond Falls is on my next trip. See youtuber Stoney Wandering. Also visit Drummond Island - inside Mackinac Island without all the touristy things but it is much larger ebikes may not hold up. For food try smoked whitefish pick some up at Munising right at the smokehouse - or in Mackinac City before you cross the Big Mac. Second try Cudighi sandwich its mainly sold around Marquette and smaller city bars in Ishpeming has a bar downtown that makes great ones. A Cudighi is an Italian sausage sandwich with all the vegetable trimmings. Of course the very best place to enjoy are the Camps (cabins) way out in the wilderness. But they are privately owned but you might get a VRBO or something and spend several days. Most Yuppers have a fishing and or hunting camp in way out in the woods. Enjoy

Also try saffron buns find them for sure in the Ishpeming Negaunee area grocery stores have them but sell out very quickly they are seasoned with saffron the most expensive spice known.

Thank you for not hyping up the border crossing. That seems to be a UA-camr trend to make it seem like it's going to be a torturous process. Crossing into Canada is such a breeze. It's usually more stressful crossing back into the US. We actually just crossed back into the US at that same crossing last month. Easy peasy. Safe travels.

Wow I think you missed a whole lot more just from the timing that you were here. If you do the Trenary Toast you should time your visit with the Outhouse races, yes they have outhouse races in Trenary in the winter this year was February 24 2024. Also if you went to Mackinac Island how did you miss the Fudge in your video? Yoopers have a name for everyone that flocks to the island we call them “Fudgies” as they seem to want to try all the different fudge flavors you can get and yes the majority of them say Pasty wrong. Speaking of Pasty, there is a huge divide between Pasty lovers and that is Ketchup or Gravy! Both sides are steadfast in using one or the other on their Pasty. I myself like the different flavors you can get in a Pasty, Pizza Pasty is my favorite, but there are a lot more (ham and cheese, chicken alfredo, breakfast pasty, sausage pasty, Moco Loco, then there are in my area what they call Snails rolled up in dough like a Pasty but they have sweets combined like Stawberry, Black berry, Cinnemon, you name it they make it. The place is called Gram’s Pasties and it is a small red building in Escanaba. They have been voted Best Pasty by local residents for 15 years in a row! Glad you visited Big Springs and Fayette as that area is where I grew up and live. Fayette also has Heritage days in August and that is a fun-time as well. There are so many other things to do in the UP but I am glad you left the title like that as we like to have tourist visit but as you may have found there are not a lot of 4 lane highways here. Just a majority of 2 lanes and lots of Deer, Porcupines, Raccoons, and Skunks crossing the roads (watch out for them). Have fun in your travels!

I would need a lot of space for all the ornaments I would have purchased. And I would have definitely sent letters to my grandkids. One grandson I can think of for sure. He’s a wild child. Good luck with the Klondike Hwy and TOW. Lots of dirt, gravel and rocks. We stayed on the ALCAN last week and we still spend an hour at the power carwash in TOK. From Tok, we took our Honda CRV to Chicken one day, and that road from Tok was pretty rude, deep dips even for a car going to Chicken. The ALCAN is easier and quicker drive, but still dippy in places.
